Resonating Power Decoupling Using Multifunctional Bidirectional DC/DC Converter in Hybrid Railway Traction Application

For the single-phase high-power railway traction system, inevitable second-order resonating power has become a critical issue to system. In this article, power-decoupling solution is proposed replace conventional passive LC resonance filter by utilizing buck-type bidirectional dc/dc converter (BBDC) of hybrid electric multiple units, which designed train in nonelectrified routes using on-board battery. By considering both current ripples battery mode and decoupling catenary mode, corresponding parameter design process BBDC presented. Based on coupling phenomenon spectrum characteristic BBDC, direct control method decouple low-order power. Simulations experiments are carried out validate effectiveness new proposal. The results demonstrate that proposal almost same as for steady dynamic operation scenarios.
